A Passion to help others

We have a lot of books but not too many classes and events to help couples get started. I found myself in this dilemma many years ago. Fortunately, I found support in many women who were there when I needed them during times of uncertainty and frustration, discouragement and sadness, joy and contentment. (Events, like my 5 births, breastfeeding, parenting, and even up to the death of my husband. I thank God that He has sent me a lot of selfless friends. I am truly rich because of them!) On my part I wanted to give back to the many people who have helped me, I decided to do my share and help educate pregnant couples in their birth.
Since the demand for education has increased and more couples have gotten involved, I decided to give them more. Births of new classes came into being. Classes in birthing, baby care, cpr and 1st aid, infant massage, gentle yoga, yaya seminars, nutrition, breastfeeding and in the future parenting classes on how to discipline our children, how to keep the romance glowing in our relationship with our spouses or maybe even sex education to would be wives. How about postpartum ballroom dancing, even ballet to their young kids? Who knows? I am dedicated to help couples bond and to come along side them to help them. I am dedicated to keep growing my classes and the services I offer so long there is a need to.
An example is in the field of breastfeeding. Apart form the classes and the support group, I had to expand in providing services in counceling and breast management. Women want someone to go to them before they gave birth, for a prenatal massage and more so right after they give birth. Yes, I have women who go visit pregnant and new moms! God bless their heart and dedication. I have gotten in touch with companies to offer discounts to my students in breast pumps like Medela and Avent. Other products I carry and Timelife. I also have slings, breastfeeding pillows and blouses and other baby essentials and toys from Chicco, V-tech, Shelcore, Step 1 and Step 2, Pigeon, Safety 1st, Cosco, Barbie and My Scene sold at a discount. I rent out breastfeeding pumps.
When my husband died, I had to get a second job so what better job than to be an insurance agent with the best company known to gave training in the whole life insurance industry, Manulife of Canada. So I guess you could say that I am with my couples from the beginning of life to the end of death!
I find so much fulfillment in the things I do for others. It is what keeps me going. Being a childbirth educator and an insurance agent is such a rewarding and noble job. To me it is more than a job but a passion! I do not like any of my friends to be unprepared in giving birth, breastfeeding or most especially in the event of death of a loved one. I’ve been through all of these and it isn’t easy. Trust me, listen to one voice who’s had the experience.
