Every year the past winners get invited by the Binibining Pilipinas organizers to grace the occassion of the contest. There I get to meet the past beauty queesn. It is always a joy for me to get together and to find out how they have been doing and what they are presently up to. Like everybody else, some have success and others have sad stories to tell.
I wondered before where the celebrities get their glow, charm, flare and attraction to their fans. Some of them were hardly noticed before they became a celebrity. Some struggled to be where they are right now and maybe even came from odd jobs or challenging backgrounds. Some how after they come out of the limelight, they are somebody! I think it is their fans, the people that put them where they are that make them have this certain glow and air in them. Needless to say it also comes from maturity, experience and confidence learned from the trade.
We enjoy reminishing how it was like when it was our time. In the pageant itself we are given the best seat, just behind the judges. We get to find out who are their best bets, compare notes and make our own guesses. As past winners we somehow feel more confident and sure of ourselves. so different from how we most started before we won. The following year the new winners join us. It’s nice to see them grow with more confidence and grace. They too end up giving tips and advice to the new candidates and winners. They easily blend in as they now become a part of this never ending cycle of beauty queen winners.
