Chiqui’s Birthday 2007

Could you imagine, I am now in my golden years?! I think that’s exciting! I don’t feel old only more mature and experienced. They say 50 is the new 30! That’s how I feel! In a few years I will be in my senior years! That’s something to look forward to, free movie shows in cinemas, first in line, discounts in restaurants, respect from younger people…but most of all, I can’t wait to see all my five well behaved children all grown up and successful in life, joyful and contented in the Lord! Seeing the fruits of my labor have paid off! I can’t wait for what lies ahead. I only know that it will be better, brighter and more wonderful!

I was so fortunate to have my party held in CPJ (Carlos Palanca Jr. Bldg. in Makati) before it would get demolished. Thanks to Dang! We all had fun. All of them said it was a very warm and touching personal party. That was how I wanted it. I just invited all my very close friends who were dearest to me. Most were women except for a very few men. It was catered by Chef Laudico. Everyone loved the food! I didn’t mind having the food for P800/head! I wanted everyone contented and happy in every way. I wanted it to be a memorable fellowship for everyone. The last time our Scare Group Thursday Bible Study got together was around 20 years ago! Could you imagine that? A lot have happened. Each one has her own story to tell. It’s amazing how time flies and how we could still be friends!

My mentor in the faith, Bing provided the wine and my birthday dress. She came all the way from the USA to celebrate with my birthday. So did my best friend Moey. The cake was given by Erlyn and Peachie. It was yummy!The pictures were taken by Chona. I still have a few pictures from Azenith. Bong took the video. All my friends helped and contributed one way or the other. Everyone looked so beautiful and gorgeous!

We did not have time to have everyone greet me with a blessing, we only had time for around 10 of them. They all prayed for me at the end. I was touched by all their sharing and good wishes.

My five children did a special number. Rej made the video presentation and gave a touching sincere speech. Rachel and Rosette danced to two Christian songs. Robert gave a short funny light speech. Richard sang as he played his guitar. Everyone was touched by what my children did for me, most especially I! It made me proud to be their mother. Many give tribute to the dead at funerals. What a pity. I think we ought to celebrate every occassion we can with our loved ones. Tell people how much we love and cherish them. We need show them how we care for them and appreciate them now. Not when they are dead.

This was the most meaningful birthday I ever had in my life! Thank you family and friends for your tribute on this special occassion and for spending it with me! It is indeed an honor to have sincere, true friends like you! You were all the reason why it was special. I love you all so dearly!

    The pictures are good. Everyone looks good! You look fabulous! The two solo shots of me are…in one, I have a sour expression, in the other, my eyes are so chinito! Oh well. I prefer the two group shots i’m in. It’s nice of you to mention me in your comments. I wasn’t expecting it. It was a wonderful party,noh? I’m happy that you enjoyed it. It turned out a whole lot better than i was hoping. Now you have wonderful memories of a very special celebration for your golden birthday. I’m happy i was able to share that special night with you.
