Pray for Hope when down

Yesterday after coming from my usual Monday meeting at Manulife. I was tired. I was thinking of how difficult it is to be a widow, to be single and alone fending for my 5 children. I wondered when it will all end, ofcourse deep down inside I knew there was no end to the contineous cycle of working, earning, spending…Providing for my children and the house hold is a challenge. So many people are depending on me. I could not stop, I need to go on. I think maybe these is how the husbands and fathers feel. I never realized it or felt it before when my husband was alive. I appreciate him more now. There is a certain weariness but a great sense of pride and dignity. You know what I mean? While I was weary and a bit discouraged, the Lord reminded me of His faithfulness all these years. It’s been 4 years since my husband died and the Lord has been very faithful. He has always been there even when i was far away from Him. He never gave up on me. He has provided for my family in ways I could not imagine and continues to do so. He has touched and sent a lot of people to help, encourage and pray for us. I have felt the hand of the Lord upon my children. He has blessed them in many ways! He has been their relied father in the absence of their real dad. For myself, I prayed for increased HOPE for a bright tomorrow and to be able to persevere, FAITH to believe in Him and in things unseen (His promises in the bible), PEACE in my heart, and super natural strength to go on with the daily grind, the ups and downs of each day.

Hi Chiqs…nice to read your blog. I can sense your tiredness from doing it all though I can’t imagine what it’s like to be mom, dad and sole provider all rolled into one. God is indeed faithful and gets us through all the daily challenges of life, both big and small.
Hang in there, my dearest friend…and hang on to Him who provides for all our needs in the most unique way. Cling to the truth that He is a rewarder to those who steadfastly seek Him.
Take care…love you!!!
Hi bing, my dearest faithful true and loving friend. Thank you for that encouragement! Nothing is sweeter than a word from a loved one who lifts up my spirit and stands by my side. You’re proven and tested to be a loyal, ever present concerned friend. I love you very much in the Lord. You have done so much for me! God bless you.
I will certainly
remember to be steadfast (I like that quality) in the Lord for I know in my heart and believe in my mind that He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him!
This evening as I watched the Jubilarian women from my alma mater school, the assumption, it gave me a certain pride to belong to such a neat and cool school. The thing that I learned most in that school is simplicity. In the past a few people have commented to me how simple and modest I am in spite of all my accomplishments. Now I’ve come to realize where I’ve learned it. Many times, I think it is equally important, if not more, to teach students qualities that they need in life to survive. Like, integrity, modesty, love for God and country, honesty, forgiveness, humility, patience, greatfulness…I think that is one advantage homeschooling has over a regular school. The parents are more often with their children, esp. the mother and she is given a lot of opportunity to teach the child Godly character.
You know what I mean?
You take care and hope we could bond together in a trip soon. You’re right, life is short, let’s live it to the fullest and get closer with friends. Let’s help one another and lift up each others burden. We are all that we have in this earth, let’s keep staying in touch!
Much love,
Chiqui
Chiqui…I viewed the pictures you posted taken during lunch for Peachy C. Just looking at everyone made me a little tearful. My mind went back to the days when we had our Thursday Bible Studies. You were all so eager to grow in your faith and teaching you was such a joy.
Many years later, everyone looks just as gorgeous, and perhaps even more beautiful because of the natural glow that comes from having gained much wisdom, insight and solid character from years of walking with God and winning sundry battles that life brought along.
You are so awesome…so real, true and honest about yourself. Hang tough, my dearest friend. God has a special place in His heart for widows and orphans. You’re in good hands.
BTW…it was also a joy to cook for everyone on those Thursday lunches. You, especially, ate A LOT!!! Ha ha ha!!!
My dear friend and mentor, Bing!
You’ve taught me so much! I remember one of the first questions you asked me when Emma introduced me to you at AIM was on the assurance of salvation. This was the very first thing you checked when we met.
I had so many questions and was lost in a lot of ways, remember? I’d go to your house almost everyday, especially when Ralph and I had a misunderstanding. You were there with me all along with Emma. You helped me grow and sow the many changes in me as I renewed my mind.
You taught me the foundation of Christainity. I understood it well. You taught me how to completely rely on jesus and how to trust in Him. You’ve strengthened my faith.
One of the lessions I remember quite well is how I am complete in Christ and how I am very rich in Him. I also remember what you taught, that my significance was in Him.
You even taught me how to cook. Sorry, that I never got around doing up to now. But I still enjoy eating! Hindi na ganun karami! I need to watch out my figure.
I appreciate your calling me every now and then, though it is rare now a days because of distance, just to check on how I’m doing. You have been a great example to me. You’re different, rare, precious! A very special kind of diamond! You have it all! You’re generous, the most hospitable person I’ve ever met! A great cook, sincere and true, honest and loyal, candid and funny, organized and wise, caring and genuine, Godly!
I’m so honored to be your friend. Thank you for being there for me, for us all these years! You are a true mentor and friend. I love you deeply in the Lord!
