Shorter Childbirth Classes with FREE Yoga!

I just finished a series of childbirth classes. My students apperciate the four meetings rather than the 6, 8 or even 12 meetings (when I use to teach the full blown Bradley method or what is commonly known as the Husband Coached Childbirth class) i use to give. I think it is because of most of the couples work and have little time to spear. They want to learn everything they need to know about birthing and labor, drugs and medication, their newborn, hospital procedure, when to take the woman to the hospital, the role of the husband, postpartum…but in a shorter time. Gasoline has also become expensive. So what I did was to make my classes longer per session, four hours a class! That’s a total of 16 hours and more than enough time to cover the whole material. Since a lot of the pregnant moms find it hard to get up early, I made the classes from 1 to 5pm. I allow them to eat, drink, lay down, walk around, to change positions often. It’s a good thing we have a lot of space in the classroom and very good air conditioning. I have found an ideal venue in Pasig that is very accessible and comfortable for all.
To help loosen up the joints and to tone the parts of the body that will be used for labor, I have a yoga teacher that gives a one hour class every other session. This greatly helps the moms relax. Proper breathing is also emphasized. So far I have been offering it for free as an added feature to my class (although I welcome others who are not part of the class)! This adds value to the class. Surprisingly, all the would be fathers join in and love it too. Some end up snoring and fall asleep in the relaxation portion. It’s a good thing it is at the end of the session. I hope more pregnant moms avail of this while it is still for free.

p.s. will email you the forms i made soon! i seem to have lost the file (i’m just so forgetful now kasi!)
Dear Jolo and Eena,
I enjoy what I do. I’m so glad you feel that way. My 15 year old son asked me yesterday if I don’t get tired of teaching the same things over and over. Surprisingly, I don’t. I never even thought about that.
I love what I do with a passion. I told him, so long as you like what you are doing it will always be enjoyable and never heavy like work. Besides I find a lot of satisfaction in what I do, helping couples and being a part of their birth. This is the time when they are most vulnerable and in need of information. I’m just too happy to also share with my students my experiences in natural birth with all my five children. It’s so rewarding and fulfilling when they call me up after the birth and tell me how much they have learned.
I hope you will too. Send me your birth story with pictures at chiquibrosas@gmail.com!
Love,
Chiqui
