The perfect nursery usually starts with the perfect crib set. You’ve decided on exactly what you want, and can see the completed nursery right there in your head. You’ve planned even the tiniest details, right down to the exact arrangement of the toys on the dresser. But is that all you need to worry about? When choosing baby bedding there are a lot of things to consider, so make your choice carefully, and keep these things in mind:
- You baby needs to be comfortable, so choose something soft. Cotton is a natural choice, but look for 100% cotton instead of blends. Knit cotton or flannel are both great choices, but higher-thread-count woven cotton is an option, too.
- Do not buy bedding that is hand-wash or dry clean only, you’re not going to have time for it. Make sure it’s machine washable or don’t buy it.
- Crib bedding needs to fit the mattress tightly, to prevent any risk of suffocation. If your sheets don’t fit as well as you’d like, but a set of elastic straps that go under the mattress and make the crib sheet fit more tightly.
- Before buying a bedding set, decide if you really need one. If you want the set to complete the nursery’s decor then it mioght still make sense, but soft bedding including comforters should be removed from the crib when your baby is sleeping. So if you are trying to save money, consider buying individual pieces rather than a full bedding set. If you’re worried about coordinating, don’t be. By purchasing separates, you actually give yourself more freedom to be creative with the nursery.
- And lastly, when you’ve taken care of all the more important concerns, consider the look of the bedding, and how it will coordinate with the rest of the nursery.
Buying bedding within your budget can be a concern, but take into account that you may use it longer than you think. It’s possible to use the same crib bedding for quite a few years by buying a convertible crib or a toddler bed (make sure it uses standard-sized crib sheets). Think about family size, too. If you planning on multiple children, then think about gender neutral crib bedding like the Vintage baby bedding, so that you don’t have to keep buying new bedding. You might opt to buy cheaper bedding, though, if you are pretty sure you won’t be having more children. In any case, keep extra sets of sheets on hand, in case of emergency!
Kids bedding are an essential factor of a child’s bedroom furnishing. It is not simply a kids bedding, but it is actually a portrayal of your child’s attitude and passion. This will assist your child to develop into a distinct person, comfortable and proud to be in his own skin.
