Many women when they suspect they have Bacterial Vaginosis will try any home remedy they can before going to the doctor. They may also try home remedies because they are much cheaper than the prescription their doctor may write. There are many home remedies that work for bacterial vaginosis, you may want to try some or all of them. It is advisable to speak with your doctor if symptoms persist, not all treatments work for all women.
There are some treatments out they that involve yogurt. Yogurt can be eaten, usually up to 5 cups per day to build lactobacillus acidophillus levels. The active cultures found within yogurt are also a good remedy as they are filled with good bacteria lactobacillus. There are some women who don’t like yogurt to eat but the remedy with yogurt they will try. This remedy can work two ways; it can work by taking a bit of yogurt on your finger and insert into the vagina. Another remedy involving yogurt is that you dip a tampon in yogurt and insert the tampon.
All these remedies are tried and test some will work for you some may not. Another home remedy would involve Apple Cider Vinegar, you don’t have to drink it though you could if you dilute with water. You can drink it but please make sure you read the label first. It is used to bathe in this will help with the bodies pH level. Take a small bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar and read the direction, the vinegar is harmless so if you wanted to increase your amount it would not hurt you.
Then run a warm bath and soak in the vinegar for about 20 minutes. If you do this everyday for about a week, you should notice the Bacterial Vaginosis has gone away. The easiest remedy to start is one based on a healthy diet, drink fresh water and eat fresh fuit and vegetables. Another remedy although simple is very effective, cranberry juice agian filled with antioxidents and great for you generally.
You could also drink a lot of Orange Juice or try taking Folic Acid. By increasing your intake of Folic Acid to 1200 mcg a week, you will start to see results in 5 days or less. Other home remedies include douching, this can be done with apple cider vinegar or you can buy a medicated douche and do this every day for a week.
Another way to treat a Bacterial Vaginosis is with ice packs; some women have reported that placing ice packs on the vaginal area a few times a day takes out the burning. Not all women will experience the same symptoms so if you know someone who has had Bacterial Vaginosis, keep in mind what remedies may have worked for them may not work for you.
